Resilience

THE EVENT THE PEOPLE’S REACTION The very next day, there was no grief or hopelessness, the people worked to rebuild their houses and their lives even without the help of the government. The Filipinos remain to this day, one of the happiest races in the world.
My Chosen Legacy
Family First
A total of 15 Million Filipinos work abroad today
6,092 people leave daily to find higher-paying jobs
Most are manual laborers: household help, waiters, etc.
Many suffer from domestic abuse from their employers but still continue to work
OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS WHY THEY DO IT
Because family is the single-most important thing in any Filipino’s life. They suffer abroad to give their families in the Philippines a better life, even if they do not get to enjoy it with them.

FREEDOM of the nation
My Chosen Legacy
Personal Experiences
For more than 10 years, I have spent many of my weekends teaching Math and English to underprivileged public school students
I stayed in houses of very poor families in rural areas and lived with their lifestyle and under the worst circumstances
WHAT I’VE DONE
WHAT I LEARNED
The Filipino people value family more than anything. We work hard and go beyond our comfort zone to provide for our them. Students travel far during weekends to be taught Math and English to get ahead at school, and families still stay happy and content even
under the worst circumstances. I learned that the Filipino spirit cannot be broken.
