First trip in 1989 -- to the former Soviet Union -- to see my Ukrainian relatives. Olga
Wigowsky is on the right.

It's a custom in Ukraine to remember a "dearly departed person" one year
afterwards. Olga Wigowsky, my cousin, now has a memorial at her gravesite.
