Objective: To institutionalize the 21st of September as an annual
day of globalunity, a day of intercultural cooperation on a scale

partner: the NGO Coalition; theReducing Domestic Violence
Coalition; the Student Coalition; the FaithCoalition; the Media
Coalition; the Corporate Coalition; and the SchoolsNetwork. 2008:
70% recorded reduction in violent incidents on Peace Day 2008
inAfghanistan 2012: approximately 280 million people in 198
countries were aware of PeaceDay 2012. 2013: 68% increase in the
number of those aware of the day - thats 470million people.4
5. What is Expected in 2014 Peace One Day has launched a 3-year
project in the Democratic Republic ofCongo (DRC) and the Great
Lakes region of Africa for Peace Day, 21 September5
