1 General information
1.1 Ordering spare parts
The product number required for ordering spare parts is listed in the repair parts listnext to the item number used in the service manual.
IMPORTANT!Specify the following numbers when ordering spare parts:

2 Maintenance
2.1 Important notes
This service manual describes the external service measures defined for theproduct.
IMPORTANT!When carrying out the service measures, make sure you observe the product instruc-tion manual.
2.2 Maintenance of device and accessories
To protect des person testing, any maintenance or checking work on the device mustbe carried out in the specified order.

Function check
The test and measuring procedures specified in the section entitled "Electrical safety
test" relate to the test in accordance with IEC / EN 60601-1.
Alternatively, the test may be carried out in accordance with EN 62353 / IEC 62353.
The responsibility for complying with the current limit values and the documentation of
any values measured for the first time lies in the hands of the operator.
After repair, all measurement values (specified output values) of the device must be
checked as described in the service manual and readjusted should any deviations be
found.
CAUTION !Do not use this product if the specified measurement values orfunctions are not fulfil led.
NOTE!Any maintenance or inspection job on the device or its accessories must be documen-
ted.

2.5 Measuring and test equipment
For implementing the maintenance, repair and test routines described in this service manual, theauxiliary means and measuring equipment listed in the following are imperative. Before a repair jobmake sure that the equipment is properly calibrated and in perfect working condition.

3 Function checks
To prevent incidents caused by aging and wear of the device and the accessories, it is necessary toservice the device at regular intervals. Depending on the frequency of use, however at least once ayear, an expert must check the functional and operational safety in accordance with the specifications ofBGV A3, as well as the manufacturer's instructions.
In addition to the specifications of BGV A3, when testing the "COMB-E-VIEW 5552"proceed as follows:

3 Device function
Function test (general)
Measuring and test equipment:

Establish all cable connections (including video con-nections, monitor, footswitch) before you switch on
Switch on the device with the power / mains switch(device rear panel)
Press the standby button
Connect the USB stick. A signal (beep) must besounded when the USB stick is plugged in
Actuate all buttons (incl. the footswitch)

4 Assemblies
4.1 Lamp change (fig. 3)
Lamp wear is particularly high when the light source is switched on and off. For this reason there is ahigh probability that the light source will fail when switching on or off and not during operation.
At tent ion! Danger of damage, warranty may become void!
Caution! The lamp is filled with high-pressure gas! Handle the lamp carefully! Incase of damage, the lamp may explode! Wear adequate protective clothing as well assafety gloves and goggles when handling the lamp!
Switch off the device!
Disconnect the power / mains plug!
- Unscrew the lamp cover retaining screws on the side of the unit (1).
- Remove the lamp cover (2).
- If the lamp has been on until very recently, it is still very hot. Allow the lamp to cool down beforeyou continue. Within a few seconds after switching off the device, the lamp electronics aredischarged so that only non-hazardous residual voltages prevail which no longer represent a dan-ger when touched.
- Hold the lamp reflector firmly and pull the plug off the lamp towards the rear (3).
- Loosen the retaining screw of the lamp bracket and fold up the lamp (4,5).
- Pull the lamp rearward out of its holder (6).
- Insert a new lamp in the holder.
- Secure the lamp with the lamp bracket.
- Reconnect the lamp plug to the contacts.
- Reinstall and fasten the lamp cover.
Make sure that the earth/ground cable of the cover has not comeoff.

In connection with the lamp change, the following work should be carried
out:
After a prolonged use of the device, deposits (dust etc.) may form inside the device. Such depositsshould be removed with a vacuum cleaner provided with a suitably fine nozzle/attachment. Removeany solid deposits on the fan or on the IR filter with a soft cloth and pure alcohol or spirit.Follow the applicable safety instructions for the use of flammable liquids.

NOTE!In case of faults on the USB board, please send the complete camera with camerahead to Richard Wolf for repair.
4.3 Electronic ballast (item 6)
NOTE!In the case of a fault in the electronic ballast please send the complete camera withcamera head to Richard Wolf for repair.
4.4 Camera head
NOTE!In the case of faults/damage of the camera head, we recommend returning the entire
unit (camera + camera head) to Richard Wolf for adjustment work/repair.
