the Resurrection of Christ! O
Jerusalem, be exultant, dance

So the sinners perish from the Face of God. And let the Righteous be glad.
The Myrrh*bearing Women at dawn very early, standing
outside the Tomb of the Giver
of Life, found an Angel who
was seated upon the stone.
And the Angel addressed them
and this is what he said: “Why do you seek among the dead the One Who is alive? Why do you girieve as though corruptible the Incorrupt? So go back and proclaim It to His Disciples!”
This is the Day the Lord made! Let us greatly rejoice and be glad therein!
Pascha of Delight! Pascha, the Lord’s Pascha! A Pascha All
Venerable has Risen for us!
Pascha! With Joy let us
embrace one another! Pascha,

Christ emerged resplendently

Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning,
they, and certain other women
with them, came to the Tomb
bringing the spices which they
had prepared.
But they found the stone rolled away from the Tomb. Then
they went in and did not find
the Body of the Lord Jesus.
And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this,
that behold, two men stood by
them in shining garments.
Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth,
they said unto them, “Why dost ye seek the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is Risen!
Remember how He spoke to you
when He was still in Galilee,
saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”
And they remembered His
words. Then they returned
from the Tomb and told all
these things to the Eleven and
to all the rest.
It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the Mother of James, and
the other women with them,
who told these things to the
Apostles.
And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did
not believe them.

On the 8th day of this month we
celebrate the Synaxis of the
Holy Dust – i.e. the Manna –
that issued from the Tomb of
the Holy and Glorious
Apostle and Evangelist St
John the Theologian, the
Virgin and Beloved Friend of
Christ.
On this day we Commemorate
our Righteous Father, St
Arsenios the Great.
On this day – the Third Sunday
of Holy Pascha – we celebrate
the Feast of the Holy
Myrrhbearing Women.
Furthermore, we
Commemorate St Joseph of
Arimathea, who was a secret
Disciple; and also St
Nicodemos, the Disciple by
night.
VERSE: The Women Disciples offered Myrrh to Christ
I offer, as Myrrh, a Hymn to them.
At the Intercessions of the Holy Myrrhbearers, O God, have
mercy on us.
Amen.

It is the Day of Resurrection! O people, let us glory in
splendour! Pascha, the Lord’s
Pascha! For Christ our God has
transported us who sing the
Triumphal Hymn from death
to Life and from earth to
Heaven.
ODE 3
Come, let us drink a New Drink.
Not one miraculously brought
forth from a barren Rock, but
from the Fountain of
Immortality, sprung forth from
Christ’s Tomb, from which we
are Edified.
ODE 4
Let the God*inspired Prophet Habakkuk keep with us the
Divine Watch, and point out
the Light*bearing Angels, who
with a vibrant voice declared:
“Today, Salvation comes to the world, for Christ has Risen as Almighty!”
ODE 5
Let us arise in the early dawn, and instead of Myrrh, offer a Hymn
to the Master; and we shall see
Christ, the Sun of
Righteousness dawning Life to
all.
ODE 6
Thou descended into the deepest parts of the earth and Thou
shattered everlasting bars that
held fast those fettered; and
on the third day, like Jonah
from the whale, Thou arose
from the Tomb.
