Message from the National President
Dear Member,
It gives me great pleasure to present the first e-version of our monthly NHRDN
Newsletter.
As the new financial year dawns, and leaders and teams re-engage themselves in
planning for the year ahead, I think the pace of changes in the business environment
has increased to such an extent that many of the erstwhile business processes are
getting redundant. Hence the new financial year brings many such challenges in
business forecast & planning and so is in the challenge for HR leaders & professionals
to align the HR systems and processes.
One such challenge to my mind is the internal communication processes. The need for
more communication – consistent, open, meaningful will be a key for HR Leaders. In
any challenging business situation, communication, if effective, can play a critical
role towards achieving success. It is an area where HR can easily share the space with
the CEO. Thus, this new initiative of NHRDN – The E-Newsletter on a monthly
frequency.
Technological innovations have revolutionized the workplace and concern for
environment has became the socio-business imperative. NHRDN also has kept pace
with the changing trends and adopted the Green initiative. As a part of the green
initiative, I am pleased to present a new Avatar of NHRDN e-Newsletter.
In addition to reaching you through hard copy newsletter once in two months,
National HRD Network E-news will reach you on a monthly basis. E-Newsletter will
include additional features like latest NHRDN Activity updates, member updates etc.
In the current issue of the newsletter, you will find reports of some of our recently
conducted training programs like 1st Power of Women Leaders Summit and 1st
Shared Services Summit, National HRM Summit which were highly appreciated.
I hope you enjoy this issue and look forward to your feedback & support in this green
initiative.
Warm regards,

The role of training cannot be overemphasized in
continuous growth and development of Human
Resources. It is required to build and sustain strong
organizations and is critical in meeting and initiating
change. While training has emerged as the key
differentiator in enhancing and sustaining individual and
organizational growth, qualified and capable trainers have
become a scarce commodity.
Keeping these imperatives in view, NHRDN for the first
time conducted the highly acclaimed three-day
Residential Workshop on
at The
International Centre, Goa.
Mr Thomas Goldthorp a Certified Master Trainer and
Master Coach from Ireland was the Workshop Director.
The Workshop was a great success as it refreshed and
sharpened the training skills of over 20 trainers and line
managers, in the areas of conducting, organizing and
imparting training in addition to their line responsibilities.

For the first time, NHRDN in association with People
matters is taking an initiative to build capacity for
B-Schools.
As a national apex body of HR Profession, we connected
with various stakeholders to understand the dilemma
faced by B-schools, Corporates, Parents regarding various
ranking released by different surveys.
Keeping this in mind NHRDN has launched Ranking of
B Schools, the first of its kind exercise where the entire
methodology was DATA-Based, and did not consider any
perceptual data. In addition, for the first time in the
ranking history of Indian B-Schools, a validation team
consisting of a Research Team accompanied by an NHRDN
Industry representative, visited most of the participating
B-Schools.
• NHRDN is committed to the development of people
through education, training, research and experience
sharing.
• NHRDN works closely with the management
institutes, engineering colleges, student community
and industry and can play an important role in
accreditation of institutes
• NHRDN being a non profit, non partisan organization
can bring total transparency in the process of grading.
• NHRDN’s understanding of industry requirements can
set a rigorous process of grading.
• As one of the largest HR Associations in India, NHRDN’s
membership organizations and professional members
are ‘consumers’ and ‘employers’ of Business School &
EngineeringCollegeStudents in theCountry.
This ranking also had the privilege of being guided by an
eminent Advisory Committee comprising of eminent
professionals from both Industry and Academia, and their
valuable contribution in each and every stage made it a
complete holistic exercise. Never before has any ranking
study in India involved so many Industry veterans to such a
great extent, and that itself vouches for the quality and
rigor this study comprises of. Not to mention, the
encouraging feedback shared by all the Directors of the
Business Schools where the process was conducted.
