What persuasive tools can you spot in the story? Can you spot any rhetorical questions? Does Alex explain his point of view? Does Alex use convincing
language?
Write your own persuasive letter to someone you know using our persuasive toolkit. You could write about wanting a new pet (like Alex), about treating our
environment better or about anything else you would like to write about.
PE
Take part in yoga activities via Cosmic Kids
on YouTube.
Complete a selection of Joe Wicks daily PE
lessons. Videos can be found on The Body Coach TV- Youtube.
Take part in a selection Hampshire School
Games PE activities.

History
Write a newspaper report on an important historical event. Don’t forget to include a headline, a picture and important information like the date, where is
happened and who was involved!
You could use one of these historical events we have learned about in school, or use your own.

Geography
Recall and label some European countries- can you remember or research some of their main physical and human features? Create some artwork to go with your Geography by presenting your
work as a poster!
Science
Have a look at the sheet Science Fun at Home and try some of the activities.
This is one of the Key Instant Recall Facts or KIRFs for your child’s year group. They are used to help develop children’s
fluency in mathematics. Help your child at home by encouraging them to learn this Key Instant Recall Fact. Each week I will send them a new KIRF to focus on. Please use the blue A4 exercise book that your child has at home already to practise in if needed. I would love to see a video or photo of
your child learning this and I will pick the best each week!

Reading activitiesChoose one of these activities to go alongside your reading each day.
Write a ten word summary of the pages (or book!)
you have just read.
In first person as the main
character, write a diary entry about the main event.
How similar are you to the
character in the book? How are you different? Create a table.
Find 10 words that you are unsure of the meaning and,
using the sentence, find the
definition.
Choose the favourite page
you’ve read today and create an
illustration for it.
If you’re starting a new book,
before you begin write three
predictions you can make from the front cover!
When you finish the book can you
create a front cover?
Remember- don’t give the story
away!
Act out a scene from the book- can someone guess what’s happening?
Draw a speech bubble- what was
a character thinking during
the events of the page?
Find 5 words which add
atmosphere to the book. Use
them in your own sentence.
Write down 10 questions you’d want to ask the characters from
the book.
Choose a decision the character has made and write reasons ‘for’ and
‘against’.
Tell someone your favourite part of
the book and why.
Create a timeline for your book with 5 main events on.
Write a newspaper report of an event from
your book.
