In the series premiere, a coach accident introduces Charlotte Heywood to Tom Parker and later his brother Sidney, commencing adventures at Sanditon. The Cleveland Orchestra celebrates the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with this annual concert. Once again, WCLV 104.9 will broadcast this important event live from Severance Hall. Assistant conductor Vinay Parameswaran will lead the proceedings with The Cleveland Orchestra, the celebration chorus and soloist Lawrence Brownlee. Two leading King scholars discuss the remarks Martin Luther King Jr. made at the conclusion of the 1965 Selma to Montgomery marches; the 1967 speech in which Dr. King came out publicly and explicitly in opposition to the Vietnam War; and his last address, given the night before his assassination in Memphis in April, 1968.

KEVIN MARTIN
Since joing ideastream in 2017, Kevin has led several innovative projects, including creating a statewide news collaborative and a public media workforce collaborative. With a focus on growing ideastream’s digital capacity to better serve Northeast Ohioans, Kevin secured support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to pilot its Digital Cultural Accelerator program and the American Graduate initiative, which focused on Ohio’s workforce development. He also led the development and implementation of ideastream’s new three-year strategic plan.
ideastream’s President and CEO Kevin E. Martin is a recipient of this year’s Crain’s Cleveland Business C-Suite Awards and was honored at an awards ceremony on Thursday, December 5.
SYLVIA STROBEL
ideastream’s Chief Operating Officer Sylvia Strobel has been elected as a Member Director to fill an unexpired term vacancy on the Board of NPR.
Sylvia was elected on November 14, 2019 and the term continues through November 2021. She joined ideastream in 2018 and oversees management of WVIZ/PBS, 90.3 WCPN, WCLV 104.9, the Ohio Channel and Ohio Government Telecommunications, programming, education, talent and technology.

Northeast Ohio has an incredibly talented and diverse arts scene, including many award-winning performers in all kinds of disciplines. The Sound of Ideas Community Tour gathered some of the best and brightest artists in the area to perform in an impressive artist showcase.
The showcase featured a poet, an artist specializing in Korean papermaking, an indie band and many more. Host Mike McIntyre interviewed each artist following their performance in front of a live audience. As always, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts.
