Understand if a polynomial f(x) is divided by its factor (x – a), then the remainder will be f(x) = 0 and that conversely, if f(a) = 0, then (x – a) is a factor of f(x).
Understand that if x – a is a factor of a polynomial f(x), then f(a) = 0. Conversely if f(a) = 0, then x – a is a factor of f(x). This also means that f(x) is divisible by x – a.
