stress as well difficult menstruation which can cause further discomfort to your body. Stress can also trig-ger asthma attacks and cause breakouts to your skin.

While stress is everywhere and can come out of no-where, there are ways to help you deal with it positively and in a healthy manner. The following are some stress relieving tips courtesy of WebMD:

Write: Sometimes writing things out can help you figure out what to do in regards to what is stressing you. Write for 15 minutes a day about stressful events and how they made you feel. This stress journal will help you to figure out what is causing your stress and provide insight on how to cope.

Let your feelings out: Talk, laugh, cry, yell or what-ever it takes to get these feelings out. Try talking with your spouse, parent, minister or friend just to get the stress out so that they can help you carry your burden or offer solutions to help.

Do something you enjoy: Try a hobby like gardening, running, quilting, playing with your pet, volunteering- anything that makes you feel good and gives you a sense of purpose.

Meditation: Meditating allows you to focus on things that are happening right now. Focus on paying attention to your breathing.

Guided Imagery: Imagine yourself in a setting where you are calm and relaxed. Try thinking about the beach, the sound of a bubbling creak or somewhere that puts your mind at ease.

Exercise: Regular exercise is one of the best ways to manage stress. Walking, stretching and yoga are great ways to relieve stress.

We all experience stress and how we deal with it tests our body’s resilience. By understanding the long term effects of stress and learning of ways to cope with it, you can help your body, mind and soul to know that you are in charge and that you can handle anything.

PARK,FROM PAGE 1

environmental park could not con-tinue under the park board's juris-diction.

The board voted unanimously to consider taking over jurisdiction with board member Janie Eldridge abstaining. Eldridge (despite no longer not receiving a salary from the city and county) has been able to oversee the park and fund pro-grams at the environmental park through grants which she said takes up to 30 percent of her time.

It would mean more work for park director Bell but it could lead to additional hours for adminis-trative assistant Heather Whitham, who along with Bell has experience in grant writing.

That brought up the question of additional funding and whether city and county officials would make any available.

Shultz admitted the board needs to be more informed and educated on what and how things are done at the environmental park.

Baker, along with commissioner Shane Koons and city council pro-tem Steve Slack, said nothing had to change overnight but that the board look at how it could be done. As for now, things will operate on a day to day basis as is.

Baker added that there was no truth to the rumor that the environ-mental park would become a gun club or home for some other type activity. However, county council discussed a horse trail as a possible us during its meeting on Monday.
