Officials of the Southern Pacific herepromised the citizens' health commit-tee yesterday to make a large monthly

'.contribution to the fund, to :promotethe sanitation of the city. The ap-proval of E. H. Harrlman will be ob-tained before the amount of the con-tribution is announced, but. the sum issaid to be in excess of the expectationsof the finance eomaitttee. «

C. C. Moore, chairman of the execu-tive committee of the citizens' healthbody: Leon Sloss, chairman of thefinance committee, and T. C. Fried-lander, chairman of the publicity com-mittee, called upon the railroad . offi-cials at the Flood building yesterdaymorning and held a prolonged'confer-ence. The railroad was represented by

J. C. Stubbs, E. E, Calvin," Dr. Alns-worth and the department chiefs. Thequestion of sanitation was fully dis-cussed, and then the, membere of'-thehealth committee asked for a contribu-tion.
