Solicitation Permit ProcessIn order to conduct fund raising, canvassing, soliciting, vending
and allied advertising activities on campus, a group must
comply with the following:
Request made 48 hours in advance via OrgSync
Request made by the certified scheduling officer
Solicitation permit obtained no more than 24 hours prior
All solicitation permits MUST be placed in plain sight
Solicitation permit returned to OSE at the close of business
All permits expire at the end of the event
RSO Status: Good standing

Solicitation ProcessNO DOUBLE BOOKING
• If two or more organizations request the same location at the same time, a “first come, first served” policy will be enforced.
• No solicitation will be permitted in front of entrance and exit doors or near escalators, stairs, and elevators, or any public access doors.
• Solicitation on campus is limited to daylight and weekday hours (Monday –Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm)
• Any person or organization using amplified sound, a guest speaker in its solicitation, or an activity that may generate a crowd must use a Free Forum space.
• Pepsi Products Only!
REMINDER: No credit card solicitations are permissible.
OSE is responsible for the following areas:
1. Agriculture Building Breezeway (Ag RSOs only)
2. Applied Science and Arts Building (Outside Dental Hygiene
entrance) (Tech RSOs only)
3. Engineering D (South entrance under breezeway) (Engineering
RSOs only)
4. Communications East (East courtyard entrance) &
Communications North (Main North entrance)
5. Faner Main (can accommodate two activities of different natures)
6. Faner South
7. Lawson (grassy area) away from building and off sidewalk
8. Life Science II/Lobby
9. Neckers Lobby (Westside)
10. Quigley (first floor near Child Development Lab)
11. Wham/Pullium Hallway (near vending machines)

Certified Officers
What is a certified officer?
•An RSO member that has completed an RSO Orientation through the
Student Involvement Office who is responsible for handling all financial
matters related to the RSO in which he/she represents.
•Additionally, this officer is responsible for reserving space, scheduling
events, and arranging solicitation requests on campus for the RSO in
which he/she represents. The primary officer of an organization will
count as one of the certified officers.
•**Please note that all RSOs are required to have at least 3 certified
officers (including the primary officer).

Role of the AdvisorThe role of the advisor will vary based on the needs of the individual
organizations. Advisors should have a committed level of interest in the mission
and purpose of the organization.
RSO Advisors are responsible for:
• Group Growth
• Group Maintenance
• To serve as the RSO Financial Advisor
• Ensuring compliance with University policies, procedures, rules, and guidelines
• Account for equipment purchased by the RSO
• Handle any RSO regulation/ procedural items with the University
• Be present at major events

USG Funding Guidelines
• USG Treasurer: Alexis Miller
• USG Funding:
– Form opens on OrgSync Wednesday,
September 6th at 8am**Due to USG Senate meeting date change, application will
open Friday, September 8th.
• Orgs must present “proof” for what is
being requested
– I.e.: Quotes, past receipts, etc.
