Time Report Process
Time Reports will be created for student employees after the student and supervisor complete the hiring process.
Time Reports are sent to the departments via interoffice mail at the beginning of the pay period.
Students should verify, sign and forward time report(s) to their supervisor.
Supervisors are responsible for the accuracy and timely submission of the time report(s) to the Payroll Office.
Time Reports are due in the Payroll Office the Tuesday following the completion of the pay period.Pay Period schedule available on the Payroll website.

Time
1. Do not include lunch breaks in hours worked.
2. Do not fold/staple time reports or make any markings on the bar code at the bottom of the time report Use pencil to bubble. Use an eraser for corrections.
3. Students should sign and verify the time report. If the student is not available to sign the time report at the end of the pay period, forward to the Payroll Office with the supervisor’s signature
4. Supervisors verify, sign and submit signed report to the Payroll Office

Student Work Hour Limits
No more than 15 hours/week during semesters
No more than 40 hours/week during semester breaks
Minors under 18 years old• No more than 6 consecutive days• No more than 8 hours/day• No more than 5 continuous hours without an
interval of at least 30 minutes of unpaid break• No more than 40 hours/week during semester

Additional InformationCorrections to preprinted Time Report• If you need to report a change to the preprinted
information on the time report such as the hourly rate or
department please contact Gail Bitler. These changes need to be verified and a update to our payroll system maybe necessary.
Reporting hours worked for previous or future pay periods• Hours worked in previous pay periods should be
reported on separate time reports. One pay period per time report. Contact Payroll for manual time reports if this occurs.
