TAMPA PALMS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
From your Principal, MS. Lippek
Dear Families, The end of the school year is almost here! Thank you so much for a wonderful year. Thank you so much for your support as we worked together to make the 2015-2016 school year successful and memorable for our children! We Love Our Staff! Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is May 2-6. The teachers and staff at TPE are the best in Hillsborough County! Our teachers and staff work hard each and every day to provide the best educational experience for your child. Letting a teacher know what your child en-joyed this year is a great way to show appre-ciation. These ideas can help: 1. A younger child may draw a picture and write a short story about his/her favorite class activity. 2. An older child may write a note, card or letter to his/her teacher sharing favorite class memories or lessons. All County Music Ensembles The following students were selected into the All County Chorus and Orchestra. Chorus: Javier Canals, Sarah Craig, Kaitlyn Graulich, Kylee Harrell, Valerie Ingram, Valli Kuruganti, Ella Rivera, and Carissa Smith Orchestra: Trisha Bhathivi, Katie Chae, Jere-miah LaFayette, and Shruthi Mohanraja Orff: Kiara Orbegoso, Neel Patel, and Avaneesh Venkatesh A huge round of applause to Ms. Walsh and
Mrs. Layton for their incredible dedication to our music program. School Supply List and Back to School Infor-mation Our Back to School 2016-2017 School Supply list will be distributed in the final report card that goes home on June 10th. We will also post it on our school website. Be sure to check our school website over the summer for additional back to school information: http://tampapalms.mysdhc.org Summer Schedule The school district will be following a four day, 40 hour work week this summer. CARNIVAL
The Carnival was a wonderful success. It was so fun to see everyone who came and enjoyed the day with us.

Our May Spirit Night is coming up and we hope to see you all there.
It will be held at Chick-fil-A on May 18.
Forget about cooking and come join us for a quick meal while raising money for TPE! Kids are ensured to have a fantastic time with spin the wheel, along with some of their
classmates and teachers.
Simply mention that you’re with Tampa Palms Elementary Spirit Night and you will be automatically donating to our school!
Teacher appreciation week is May 2 – 6, we encourage you to take the time to let the teachers and staff know how much you love them.
A big gift is not necessary, but a thoughtful note and kind actions are a great way to show thanks for all that our teachers and school staff do for our children.
There are many fun and inexpensive ideas online if your class has a home room repre-sentative, you can reach out to them and see if a class gift is being prepared.
Our school is amazing because of our wonderful administration, staff, and teachers, lets show them how appreciated they are.
Dear TPE Families, It’s hard to believe that the end of the school year is just a few weeks away! I would like to take a moment to thank each of you for your participation in our events this year and for all your PTA support. I would especially like to thank my incredible PTA board. You have shined, achieved great things, and made a difference in the lives of not only the students in our school, but our staff, families and commu-nity. You are all talented, giving, generous, and dedicated. It has been an honor serv-ing as your PTA President for the past two years, and a member of the PTA for the last 7 years. My term as President is quickly coming to an end. It is time for a new PTA board to take the reins and continue with our success. New ideas, new members and a motivated group of volunteers are around the corner, and with that, I would like to introduce our slate for the 2016-2017 PTA Executive Committee!

It will make such a positive impact on your life. Trust me, I speak from experience. To my executive board, congratulations on another great year. You ladies worked so hard organizing and executing all our events this year.

and guiding us to obtain maximum results.
Please join us for our last General Assembly meeting of the year on Thursday, May 19th in the cafeteria as we vote in our new board and include a presentation on bicycle safety. This year’s Fundraising was a great success, raising more than $65,000!! I am happy to report that PTA just purchased $15,000 worth of new laptops for our teachers to enrich our children’s learning experiences. With summer break right around the corner, the new PTA board will start planning for next year’s events. We will kick off the new year with “Meet Your Teacher Day” which will be held on Wednesday, August 10th. We will have spirit t-shirts and PTA memberships on sale for the new school year. In the meantime, you can stay in the loop on our PTA Facebook page. Lastly a huge congratulations to our 5th grade graduates! Thank you again for allowing me to serve on the PTA. It has been a rewarding experience and created lasting memories. I hope everyone has a fun and safe summer break! Shay Edinger PTA President 2014-2016
