THREE GENERATIONS OF SERVICE

Ellis Mead, a Stafford farmer, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1913. In the photo of the calvary unit, he’s to the far right. His son, David Mead, served with the 87th Artillery in Vietnam in 1968. He’s shown on the radio, takingorders of where to fire. David Mead’s daughter, Diane Mead Humerick, was sworn into the Air Force in 1990 after graduating from the University of Virginia.
