We are living in exceptional times.
Scientists tell us that we have 10years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of naturalresources and the catastrophicevolution of the Earths climate.
In 200,000 years on Earth, humanity has upset the balance ofthe planet, established by nearly
four billion years of evolution. The price to pay is high, butits too late to be a pessimist:humanity has barely ten years to
reverse the trend, become aware

The Art of PoiPoi is one of the traditionalperforming arts of the Maori peopleof New Zealand and is usuallypractised by women but apparentlyit was rst used by men to developwrist exibility for the use of handweapons.
Poi spinning has developed into avisual performance art by using UVSensitive Materials such as glowsticks or Glow Balls. Others havetaken it further by attaching wickswhich are then soaked in fuel andset on re.
Meet Justin MicallefA Fire Poi ArtistI started to learn and practice Poiat the age of 17 after seeing somelads re dancing. I remember I was
really intrigued and together withmy girlfriend started scouring theweb to learn more about how topractice this art.We trained everysingle day, spinning and learningnew moves obviously at rstwithout re. I still recall feelingthe adrenalin running through myveins the rst time I actually lit upmy Poi... I felt invincible!
Since then Ive kept trainingand started looking for workopportunities, and Im glad andpleased that my ambition, hardwork and perseverance has paid off.
My aim now is to use this art tohelp me travel and perform aroundthe world !

Away from the hustle and bustleof India, Goas tranquil and laidback attitude makes it the perfect
destination for those after a relaxingyet colourful experience.
Famous for its party meccas ofCalangute, Baga & Condolim, and theever-popular ea market at hippyishAnjuna Beach, the northern part ofGoa offers a multitude of atmospheric
delights for those keen to experiencea more authentic Goa.
The tiny village of Chapora is stillvery popular with modern-day hippiesand expatriates from all over the
globe, and it is very easy to spenda couple of weeks lazing aroundthis beautiful place. A slower pace
of life and of tourism expansioncan be immediately felt as soon asone ventures south. With a headycombination of emerald paddyelds, white sandy beaches andazure waters; no wonder Goas oftenreferred to as a Tourist Paradise.
It is so easy to unwind here - theswaying palms, the sensation ofwarm sand between your toesand Portuguese rhythms allcontribute to Goas captivatingand irresistible charms.

Around 700 young Australians ofMaltese descent, descended on
the Arthouse Hotel in the city ofSydney (Australia) on September 18to celebrate their Maltese origins.
This rst ever event to beorganized in Sydney broughttogether Maltese from all over thestate of New South Wales, even
as far as Tamworth, 5 hours drivefrom Sydney, to a club decked outwith Maltese crosses, ags and, hard to believe, Kinnie & Cisk!
The crowd danced the nightaway to House, Trance, Anthemsand of course a few Maltese
classics remixed by some of the
best Australian Maltese DJs inAustralia, namely Dj Joey, Arty
Groove and Disarray. This event was the rst everorganised to bring the 2nd and 3rdgeneration Maltese together andthe response was hard to believe.
Earlier this year in January local
heroes Dj Ruby, Tenishia and MissRoberta performed in Melbournesedition of Made in Malta andplans are already being made to rebook these artists. The next Made in Malta event isplanned for January 2011 :)

Shame on you!On a recent photographicassignment we were shocked anddisappointed to nd the countryroads leading to the picturesqueDingli Cliffs littered with all sortsand types of rubbish.
Broken PCs & Monitors, toiletcisterns, construction waste suchas unwanted concrete beamsand old tiles lie disgracefully andembarrassingly at secluded countrylanes or literally have been thrownover the cliffs.
We cannot believe that suchignorant and selsh people stillexist. Theyre happy and proud toclean and tidy their property butafter shamelessly drive to these
country beauty spots and dumptheir unwanted trash.
Thats nice, clean your house, dirtyour island.SHAME ON YOU !!
What is even more frustrating andbafing is that they could havesaved themselves all the troubleand risk of getting caught (youcould loose your car) by insteadof driving to say Dingli Cliffs theycould have gone to a bring in siteand dispose of their rubbish there
for FREE.

in some cases.
Thus I feel obliged to let theGozitan freshmen know howincredibly HARD and STRESSFULthese rst months are going tofeel. And there you were, thinkingit would be easy to t in.
Unfortunately, youre going to haveto deal with the crazy depictionsome of our fellow Malteseclassmates and lecturers haveof the typical Gozitan student possibly primitive, all gbejniet tal-bzar and all.
