It is the mission of the Educational
Ministries of the United Methodist
Church of Evergreen to conduct and
encourage a coherent, intellectual
and spiritual investigation into our
identity as children of God and
members of his church. We pursue
this through educational programs
serving all members of the body of
Christ.

Introduction to the Safe Sanctuary Policy
The United Methodist Church of Evergreen strives at all
times for a safe and comfortable environment in which all of
our congregants can come closer to God. The policies and
procedures that the church follows are an important part of
that. The Safe Sanctuary policy of the United Methodist
Church of Evergreen is specifically designed to provide
guidelines for staff and volunteers working with the chil-
dren’s and youth programs. The intention of this policy is to
provide best practices for people working with our young-
est congregants so that these classrooms and events run
smoothly and safely at all times, for the protection of the
children, youth, and their teachers. The policy covers
teacher to student ratios, volunteer screening, classroom
management policies and many other aspects of our chil-
dren’s and youth programs. The Safe Sanctuary policy is
available in full in the Programs and Events Catalog for
Youth and Children.
