Readiness checks are performed in two different phases of the
transition to SAP S/4HANA:
Discovery phase:
Before a transition to SAP S/4HANA, to identify and consider
technical and functional impacts in project planning
Planning Phase:
Once a transition project starts, to gather deep-dive analysis of
custom code and data consistency
Once productive on SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition,

Preparing your technical transformation
Transition scenario-independent considerations
Technology
▪ SAP Fiori and Embedded Analytics should be considered to leverage the full potential of SAP S/4HANA
▪ Sizing for Embedded Analytics and SAP Fiori, and consider scale-out, active/active read-enable as well
▪ API framework is generally stable and standard interfaces to external systems still work with SAP S/4HANA
▪ Data volume management and archiving techniques should part of ALM strategy after go-live
▪ NW version of the systems connected to SAP S/4HANA has to be >=731, e.g. BW, PI, etc.
▪ Define application lifecycle and operations to include regular maintenance/upgrade of the SAP S/4HANA systems
Functional
▪ Use of a sandbox/reference system to explore functionality is recommended
▪ Master data governance should be considered as preparatory activity for customers, vendors, employees, or
materials etc.
▪ Leverage simplification list to get insights into functionality that has changed in SAP S/4HANA compared to ERP
▪ Focus end user enablement to improve adoption by system users and leverage SAP Learning Hub to upskill key
users
▪ Business Partner is the object to implement Customer and Supplier
