It is good to see that
OOSH is being given the
high priority it deserves
within government
decision-making
processes.
Hello MOOSH families,
Hope everyone is having a good week:)
Please take note of Manly OOSH’s AGM coming up on the 4th
December at 630pm. It will be held at Manly OOSH itself. Families are
welcomed to sit in at the meeting . A notice has been emailed out today.
An update on OOSH fire evacuation and lockdown procedures —we
practice these drills every term and part of our Plan B evacuation would
be to practice walking the children to either the wharf or beach .
For evacuation drills, our first assembly point is on the Green Court ,
however, during an extreme emergency , like in the event of a fire
spreading rapidly—we will be required to move the children off
premises . That is when our Plan B evacuation comes into play. We
follow MVPS evacuation to the beach or wharf when it comes to our Plan
B evacuation.
With evacuation and lockdown drills—we will require families who are
already onsite at MOOSH to participate in them as this sets an example
for all the children as to how serious these drills are.
Thank you.
PARENT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE:
MOOSH is an incorporated business governed by a voluntary parent body who are all
qualified in the business/finance / compliance industries. They oversee the operations of
our service and ensure all legislative systems are in place .MOOSH directors meet with
our PMC twice a term to report and discuss MOOSH matters.

Term 4
Week 1
Hi everyone I'm back from the “Long White Cloud” across the Ditch as our cousin’s say [NZ].
Well I was sad to see the ALL BLACKS beaten by the ENGLAND in the world cup and a big CONGRATULATIONS to the SOUTH
AFRICAV Springboks. Love Rugby, the game has such comradery between the nations teaching children to be good sports
and the love of the playing the game.
Our “KIWI’’ friend also brought some treats. Pineapple Lumps/Bites, Baby Chocolate fish, a new product for the educators to
try ,Hokey Pokey Clusters, and don’t forget Kiwi poo! Don’t freak out parents it’s chocolate coated raisin’s. The kids thought
it was hilarious, there was lots of laughter.
In week six I will be talking to the children about “Bullying Prevention” I’ll be preparing a short talk and some activities and
reminders as we have little group chats within the groups on “BULLYING” and some tools for the children to use if faced with
bullying. In week eight I will be organizing a day for
“Disability Day” having activities , games and craft planned.
Also a big thank you to the Educators [Taye] and Celine
[Director] for looking after my group Year 1.
It’s great to see them getting used to the routine and using
lovely manners. Well Done.

NATIONAL RECYCLING WEEK
Next week is National recycling week! At
MOOSH next Thursday we are running a
special day to learn about recycling and
have a bit of fun with it.
I have organized a recycling
relay race which is going to be
hilarious. It will start with a
recycling race, where the
children will have to sort
through items to recycle them
correctly. Next, a recycling
quiz! With some silly questions
and a bit of friendly
competition. Lastly, a
blindfolded garbage pick up. We’ll also
participate in some recycled craft. Stay
tuned for photos.
If you have any items that we can use
please bring them in. Unfortunately we
can’t accept toilet rolls or egg cartons.

Global hand washing day!
On the 18th of October we participated in
Global Hand Washing Day. We talked about
how important hand washing
is. We also did an experiment
with the children about germs
and how to get rid of germs
from our hands.
I used cocoa as a germ and I
put cocoa on their hands. I
asked 3 children to come up and demonstrate
how they wash their hands. Some of them
ended up with cocoa still on their hands!
After we went through correct handwashing,
the cocoa disappeared.
Did you know ??
112 is another
emergency number
We are also training new hand washing
routines with the children.
Not only for the children, all of our staff
have to wash their hands too when they
arrive.
