some apple cider! We will meet at the church parking lot, and ride through the community singing songs of the season to our neighbors. The hayride will end
at approximately 7 pm, back at the church. ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!!!
Our youth and college students are then invited to remain at the
church for a Mini-Midnight Lock-In, where pizza will be
provided. Parents may pick up youth between 11:30 pm and
midnight.
Virginia Baptist Scholarships for 2012
Achievement scholarships are available to our college
students from the Baptist General Association of Virginia
every year (up to $1,000 per year). Students must be
active in Christian Ministry of some kind on their campus,
maintain a 3.0 grade point average, and must have been
baptized in the church. The due date is April 1, 2012, but
Heather would like students to get their forms to her by
February 1st. You may also want to check out the VA Baptist
Foundation Scholarship opportunities as well. Check out the
websites for both the BGAV and the VA Bap. Foundation.
A Note from Charles: I’m very happy that I have been called to be your Minis-ter of Music. I look forward to getting to know each of you better as we serve the Lord now and in the future.
A Note about Christmas: At the morning service on Dec. 18, the Sanctuary Choir will present a program featuring hymns, scripture, and
carol settings by Virginia composer John Dixon. We will be accompanied by members of the Richmond
Symphony. Please plan to attend and worship with us. If any of you would like to sing with the choir for this
seasonal special, just let us know. We can accommodate those who have limited rehearsal time, need rides,
or have other problems. One Other Note: Voice or piano lessons are offered to anyone who sings with the Sanctuary Choir. These lessons can be for the
singer, or anyone who the singer wishes, such as a child, relative, or friend. If you or a friend are interested, call
the church office and leave contact information.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GIFTS!
We thank each of you who gave donations of turkeys and
food to our Thanksgiving Meal Ministry. We were able to provide a holiday meal to 23 local families this year!
We were also able to give many new toys and other items to local children this Christmas Season because of the
efforts of our WMU and the Baptist Centers.
In addition, we collected 35 shoeboxes full of gifts for children all over the world! The Samaritan’s Purse Ministry, which sponsors the Shoebox Project, thanks
everyone who donated gifts.

Help the William & Mary Baptist Collegiate Ministries!
Lindsey Huggins has asked that we donate winter clothing, such as gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, coats, etc., to the W&M BCM for their annual winter missions trip to Nashville. She is asking that items be given to her no later
than Christmas Day. Last year’s trip was a huge success, and many of our
brothers and sisters in need received items to help them stay warm throughout the
season...let’s help do the same this year!
We would like to send best wishes to Patrick Henry
School of Science & Arts as they move from WHBC to their new location down the street. Good luck to all the students, parents, teachers, and staff!
