Dear Parents and Carers

Our Year 6 children have just returned from their residential trip to Todmorden inLancashire. They stayed at a Robinwood activity centre and their base for three days was a

castle. They had a fabulous time and they enjoyed every second! The aim of the trip was tobecome more confident in challenging situations and to overcome their fears, improve theirproblem solving skills and to develop new skills.

The reason for this letter is to gauge parental interest regarding residential trips we mayoffer next year.

We are currently thinking about offering two trips. A trip to France for our Year 6 children(our current Year 5’s) and repeating the Robinwood trip for our Year 5 children (currentYear 4). We would be grateful if you could return the slip below so that we can start tomake arrangements for the trip or trips.

The proposed trip to France would take place in June next year (we are unable to give anactual date at this moment in time.) The cost of the trip would be approximately £330, thistrip would be from Monday to Friday. This price would include transport, accommodation andfood. It would also include a wide range of activities possibly including a visit to a creperie,orienteering to solve a French puzzle, visits to various museums and local attractions. Moreinformation about the company we would be using can be found at www.euro-sejours.com (click on the tab at the top that says Incoming).If the trip was to go ahead it would be for Year 6 only.

The trip to Robinwood in Todmorden would take place May to June (again we are unable togive an actual date). The cost of the trip would be approximately £195 for three days. Thiswould include accommodation and food. It would also include a wide range of activitiesincluding archery, canoeing, crate challenge, and the famous piranha pool. (Transport costswould be met by school.) More information about the company we would be using can befound at www.robinwood.co.uk.We are planning this trip for Year 5 children but if interest for the France trip is low we willoffer this trip to the Year 6 children as well.
