I have a unique transfer story. You see, I started at PVAMU, transferred to another university for one year, and transferred back to PVAMU. What can I say? I missed my family. I missed my friends and I truly missed the entire PVAMU experience. I found that the smaller class sizes here at Prairie View really helped me concentrate on my major. I was not intimidated and I felt like I was treated like an individual – not a number.
Plus, although I did join a few organizations at the other institution I attended, I felt that the organizations I was a part of at PVAMU really strengthened my abilities and reinforced my leadership skills. Simply put, PVAMU turned out to be the best choice for me – I was able to be myself. I was inspired to be the best that I could be, and I achieved a lot during my time here that I know I would not have achieved at any other university.

PVAMU has a lot of opportunities for people who are willing to step out of their comfort zones and connect to other students who have similar interests. From meeting with on-campus mentors to joining some of the organizations and clubs that are offered, you are able to create your own campus experience. I’m originally from California and I initially went to a junior college. I came to PVAMU to play football and to prepare myself to become a fireman. I’m proud to share that I am interning with the Prairie View Fire Department over the summer and I’m so excited to be on the first team to play at the new Panther Stadium.
