On 30 April 2016 Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Karanataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the underground corridor of Bangalore Metro Rail. Bangalore Metro Rail, also known as Namma Metro. It is South India's first underground metro section connecting east west corridor of Bangalore metro rail project. The underground section of about 4.8 km long from Cubbon Park to City railway station completes the 18.10 kilometers long east west corridor which is also called Purple Line. The five underground stations have massive stations, escalators, air-conditioning and other services like Wi-Fi.

On 30 April 2016 Reliance Defence signed strategic partnership agreement with three Ukranian state- owned firms, to collaborate on a range of military products including transport aircraft, upgrade of armoured vehicles, maritime gas turbines and unmanned aerial vehicles. The agreements were signed during meeting between Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani and Ukranian President Petro Poroshenko in Ukraine. As per the agreements; • both companies will jointly bid for the medium military transport aircraft programme of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). • In addition to this, they will collaborate for assembly, manufacture and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of Antonov series of aircraft to address the requirements of the Indian market and agreed global markets.

On 1 May 2016 Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 came into force. In this regard, Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA) notified 69 of the total 92 sections of the Act to bring it into force from 1 May 2016. The Act sets up in motion the process of making necessary operational rules and creation of institutional infrastructure for protecting the interests of consumers. It promotes the growth of real estate sector in an environment of trust, confidence, credible transactions and efficient and time bound execution of projects. As per the notification, real estate regulatory authority will be formulated within one year. Regulatory Authorities will have to dispose of complaints in 60 days and Appellate Tribunals will be required to adjudicate cases in 60 days.

On 29 April 2016 Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao launched Adi Praman, a web-based application. It enables Maharashtra’s tribal population to get the caste validity certificates online. The portal named [email protected] was launched at Raj Bhavan. Maharashtra was the first state to provide caste validity certificates online. Adi Praman; • It will make the entire process of securing caste validity certificate transparent, fast, and easy and would effectively curb the menace of bogus certificates. • It will help them avail of government services on time. • It will also help the government achieve the goal of inclusion as envisioned under the Digital India programme. • The certificates will be bar-coded with the unique identification number and authorities can directly verify the status of validity certificate using the unique barcode number.

On 29 April 2016 India and Papua New Guinea signed four agreements/MoUs to boost the bilateral relations. These MoUs were signed during the two-day visit of President Pranab Mukhrejee to Papua New Guinea. Signed MoUs are; • Health and Medical Services : The MoU on Health covers areas such as Public Health, Health Research, Human Resources and Training and Medical Services. • Transport and infrastructure : India will provide a Line of Credit of 100 million dollars for specific projects in Transport and infrastructure sectors. • Agriculture : The MoU on Agriculture delineates all round cooperation in agricultural research and training. • Information Technology : It envisages establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Information Technology.
