This guide is brought to you

So You Want to Raise the
Dead…
1. Get ready to lose some
blood.
If you thought necromancy was all about sacrificing sheep, think again.
More often, necromancers use their own blood to fuel a spell. As one put it:“I prick my fingers more often than a diabetic.”
2. That skull on your
desk? It might be illegal.
Will that skull make you a scofflaw?
The rules about possession of human remains vary. Generally, you can keep human remains for scientific purposes.
Unfairly, courts tend to look askance at spell casting as a legitimate scientific purpose.
3. Reanimation: Legal
consequences
In certain localities, reanimation is considered “abuse of a corpse.” Also illegal.
The Witch of EndorRaises Samuel from the Dead (right).
She never had to deal with the Department of Health and Inhuman Services.
4. You’d better be a night
person
Necromancy is generally not a daylight activity. So if you’re one of those “in bed by nine” types, you might want to rethink things.
5. Ghosts Probably
Aren’t Any Smarter than
You
Edward Kelley conversing with a spirit. Ed was widely regarded as a nut.
The ancient Greeks used necromancy for divination, believing ghosts could see the future.
But ghosts can’t always be trusted.
The End…?
When Riga Hayworth finds a dead body in her bedroom a week before her wedding, it’s par for the course. When the corpse drives off with her fiancée… That’s a problem.
Riga knows dead. More intimately than she’d like. So when a murdered photographer gets up and walks away, she’s believes there’s necromancy afoot. And when she discovers that several of her wedding guests are under the influence of dark magic, she’s certain.
But how can she catch a killer and stop a necromancer when even her nearest and dearest are lying to her?
