Introduction

Aim of the piloting • To test thoroughly the M-CARE curriculum, training course and

• To establish panels of 20 users in each country to provide the basis for a rigorous review of all aspects (qualitative and quantitative) of M-CARE’s outputs as designed and customised in WP3.

• To produce revised national versions of the M-CARE offline and online resources in response to the results of the piloting in the aforementioned pilot sites.

Findings I

General:

• Some parts of the Modules are too simple – in contrary too many technical terms are used for the target group „beginner“ in others

• It is not sufficient, to have only theory to understand the contents of some modules, it is very important to assure practical experience and examples

539913-LLP-1-2013-1-TR-LEONARDO-LMP

Findings II

Contents I

• Different definitions for certain illnesses and disabilities on national level (e.g. Alzheimers is not a disability it‘s a form of dementia)

• Imprecise definitions of certain desases

539913-LLP-1-2013-1-TR-LEONARDO-LMP

Findings III

Contents II

• Imprecise Classification of competences and needed qualifications of the different professions involved in care giving (e.g. care giver, physiotherapist, physician, medical nurse, doctors, psychiatrists etc.)

• Professional qualification are required for the different tasks such as: dressing a wound, diagnosis, prescription of medicine, therapy to be applied etc.

• Content is not always adapted fully to the national standards (e.g. methods of taking body temperatures, first aid maneuvers etc.)

539913-LLP-1-2013-1-TR-LEONARDO-LMP

Findings IV

Mobile App I General • Good additional tool to support the learning process • Not a Self-learning-tool, because there isn’t a guiding structure or

tutorial Positive • Good impression of the first version concerning

– Design – Layout – Handling

• It’s well structured and clearly laid-out • Search-function works well • All contents from the online-portal is already transferred

539913-LLP-1-2013-1-TR-LEONARDO-LMP

Findings V

Mobile App II

Potentials

• It’s missing a “Tour Guide” for first time users including a description of contents of the options (icons),

• Contents of Mobile App and Learning Portal not always identical (yet)

• Registration procedures aren’t intuitive

539913-LLP-1-2013-1-TR-LEONARDO-LMP

Recommendations

General • Introduction or tutorial for the use of the Learning Portal

and Mobile Application • Check contents „language“ for suitability for the different

target groups („beginners“, „professionals“) • Create learning Levels for the different target groups • The definition of the term “disabilities” should be oriented

to the WHO-definition and then adapted to the most recent national definition

• Supervision by a professional expert obligatory • Precise description of competences of the different experts

on national level and adaptation of the modules accordingly

539913-LLP-1-2013-1-TR-LEONARDO-LMP

Recommendations

Contents I • The red line going through the modules should be adapted at

certain points of the learning course (e.g. first aid module – contents should be checked according to national laws and contexts)

• Creation of an appendix or glossary for professional definitions for illnesses, disabilities etc. based on international agreed definitions (e.g. WHO), Latin vocabulary

• Adapting contents of modules to national standards (e.g. first aid) • Working closely together with the medical sector • Acomplimenting the theoretical learning with the opportunity of

hands-on work-based learning

539913-LLP-1-2013-1-TR-LEONARDO-LMP

Recommendations

Mobile App

• Help Desk or „Tour Guide“ should be integrated in the Mobile App

• Clarifying the role of the Learning Portal and the Mobile App (not suitable for self-learning)
