AS PRELIMINARY TASK EVALUATION.By Lois Woodward.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED DURING THE MAKING OF YOUR PRELIMINARY TASK?

• During the preliminary task I learned many new things that will help me with larger media tasks and in the future.

• I learnt how to use handbrake which takes videos which have no audio and transfers the audio onto the video.

• The editing for me was easy because I already knew how to work an editing system, but this was a little different as I had to match video movement and try and achieve match on action and continuity, which I think worked well.

AREAS OF SUCCESS.• My group did so well when making and editing the film, we got on so well and

supported each others ideas, there were no cross words between anyone and were proud of what we achieved.

• The use of premiere pro went well as we managed to use it properly and it was fairly easy to use which made our process of editing easier for the group.

• There was no leader in the group which is why I think we got on so well because we did not have anyone over powering us and telling us what to do.

• The was a scene in our piece where we used our set to show leading lines, and it had a few comments about how good it looked on camera and when it was finished.

• Our group used our lessons to film because we liked that we were altogether and we could all make the filming sessions and we all contributed.

AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT.

• A way for us to improve would be to get other people to act in the film as we could’ve used our group more behind the camera instead of in front. For our next filming task we have already asked for people to be in film so that our group can work more behind the camera and work on shots that we didn’t use in this task that we could use in the next one.

HOW WELL DID YOU MEET THE BRIEF.

• Unfortunately we didn’t meet the brief as well as we thought as we did not include the 180 degree rule and shot/reverse shot, but did use match on action throughout the piece.

• We did not use the other two as we did forget to add them in our filming and then we did not have time to go back and re-film anything as if we did go back and re-film it, it would’ve taken time out of our editing which would’ve made our film not as good.

• Next time we will use these shots as we know now how to do them and we will manage our time and remember to film them next time.

EVALUATE YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE GROUPS WORK.

• Personally I helped an awful lot in the filming process and with the editing.• I starred in the film briefly which was no problem as it

helped the group a lot.• I edited the whole film as the girls didn’t know how to or

what to do with the software whereas I had some idea and once I started it just got easier to work with.
