  • 1. Q1. GENDER When designing and constructing my questionnaire, I decided to include this question to allow me to see what percentage of my target audience will me male or female so I can adjust and modify my magazine colours and aesthetics of my magazine to appeal to the audience. My results from my question show that 75% of my audience is Female, and 25% are male, therefore in order to make my magazine appeal to both male and female audiences I will make sure colours, vocab, images, incentives etc. appeal to both males and females as if it appeals to a more varied audience then more profit can be generated from the magazine.Gender25%Male Female75%

2. Q2. HOW OLD ARE YOU? When asking the 20 selected people from my target audience, they were ages ranging from 16-19 years of age, this therefore creates more variation on my results, and also allows me to see what age range I'm directly aiming my magazine too. However, when tallying and presenting my results within a pie chart it shows 100% of all questionnaire participants were all in the age category 16-19 years of age, this therefore leads to bias results and due to these results will make my magazine targeted more directly to late teenagers/ young people (16-19 years old), this will have a direct impact on the vocab I will use when writing my double page spread etc. and colours and iconography I will use to attract the younger audience.Age 0%Under 16 Aged 16-19Aged 20-25 Aged 26+100% 3. Q3. FOR A WEEKLY MUSIC MAGAZINE, HOW MUCH ON AVERAGE WOULD YOU SPEND? I decided to ask my target audience this question as by asking them what they would pay for a weekly music magazine and with this data I am able to decide a price for my own music magazine based on what my target audience feels appropriate to pay for a weekly music magazine. How much would you pay for a weekly magazine? 15%By the data shown, 65% of my target audience would pay from 2.00-3.99 for a music magazine, 20% would pay 0.00-1.99 and finally 15% of the target audience would pay 4.00+, from this data the target audience would be more likely to purchase a magazine within the price range 2.00-3.99, this price would ultimately be a more appealing price and people would be more likely to buy the magazine, the profit generated from the magazine would be able to compensate for the publishing prices etc.20% 0.00-1.992.00-3.994.00 +65% 4. Q4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR? By adding this question into my questionnaire, it allows me to identify what colours my target audience appeals to the most. ON A MAGAZINE COVER, WHAT ELEMENTS/ FEATURES DO YOU RECOGNISE FIRST? On my questionnaire, I decided to include this question to decide and see what stands out the most in the opinion and eyes of the target audience. By seeing what features stands out the most to the readers and when creating my magazine I will emphasise the features that the target audience sees first in order to make it more eye catching and successful.By the data collected, The colour scheme is the most popular feature that readers recognise first as it is a clear 35%, followed by content within the magazine (30%) and images (26%). In order to emphasise these features, I will include bold vibrant colours (colours that the target audience favour the most), I will also include bold and interesting cover lines to persuade the reader to buy the magazine to read the articles within and finally use interesting images that will be memorable and relevant to the main double page spread I'm going to create. On a magazine Cover, What elements/ Features do you recognise first? Guitar When creating questions for my questionnaire I wanted to ensure that there were free choice questions within my questionnaire to allow my target audience to freely write what they believe is their choice without boxes or sample answers. I decided to include this question to allow me to see what words they associate with my chosen genre of music and also choose a title name out of the words listed by the participants. The results were interesting and also unique, out of the different suggestions I chose the word Distorted, I chose this words to feature as my magazine title/ masthead as I believe its a strong word that gives mystery and life to the magazine, also is fits in with music as on guitar amplifiers, distorted effects are commonly found and these effects are used in most rock/ indie music.Distorted Unique x3 Alternative x2 Independent Interesting Sound Chilled Upbeat Vibe Instruments Relax Loud Festivals Decent Gigs 8. Q8. HOW OFTEN DO YOU BUY MUSIC MAGAZINES? I decided to include this question into my research questionnaire as it would give me a more in-depth insight as to how often people buy magazines and this can then reflect on my planning and how often I want my frequency of publication to be and also what would suit my target audience. The data I've collected clearly shows that most of my target audience which is 55% of my questionnaire participants buy monthly music magazines and 25% never buy music magazines, this is therefore irrelevant information and is a clear anomaly in my data that I've collected. The next popular is weekly which is 15%. Due to the clear 55% of monthly music magazine purchaser's, this will then influence my frequency of publication and therefore make me change my frequency of publication to monthly as my target audience favour monthly magazines and would be more likely to purchase the magazine making my magazine more successful as a product. How often do you buy music magazines?5% 25% Never Weekly Monthly 55%15%Other 9. Q9. IN A WEEKLY MUSIC MAGAZINE, HOW MANY PAGES WOULD YOU EXPECT TO SEE ON AVERAGE? In conclusion of these results, I will be advertising a Free EP on a skyline incentive banner and then near the cover lines on the magazine I will be advertising posters, this therefore enables a more varied choice of incentives and also gives a much broader chance of purchase based on the incentives presented and within my magazine, generating more profit and promotion for bands and artists on the poster or their EP.What incentive would persuade you to buy this magazine?0% Free Poster(s)5% 25%20%Free EP Win Concert Tickets Free Subsciption to magazine50%Other 11. When writing all my results the most popular bands were Mumford and Sons, One republic, The 1975 and Paramore, these 4 bands as a result will be included within feature articles or just samples on my contents page of what articles could be written about these bands or artist.
