My audience

Tom is 20 years old. He spends his week sat at an office waiting for the weekend. Tom’s interests include festivals, gigs and the latest music. Tom likes to spend time with friends and is often found at pubs listening to local bands whilst having a few drinks with his friends. He likes to have a good time but appreciates that he has a job and commitments, therefore he is sensible with humorous attributes. Tom listens to mostly rock music from bands such as Oasis and The Courteeners but will quite happily sit and listen to a recent CD from rap artists such as Kendrick Lamar or a catchy dance tune from Avicii.

Firstly, the obvious advertisements in my magazine would be music related, e.g. new albums, music shops or gigs. The magazine could also be used by electronic companies, many readers being aged 20 or more may be up to date with electronics and interested in recent developments or products. Upcoming films and tv shows could be advertised as they are also popular types of media so would fit in nicely.

Pricing

• My magazine will cost £3. • I chose this price as it is not too expensive yet equally not so cheap

that the magazine seems budget and not professional. • I believe that £3 a month for a detailed magazine really isn’t

overpriced and equally is not stupidly cheap leading the reader to wonder why it is this cheap. Is it poor quality? Are the bands unknown? Is the writing standard poor? Etc.

Potential names

• Barline is my favourite at the moment. I have an image of the word barline written in lowercase letters vertically down the right hand side of the screen.
