CURRICULAR STATEMENT

Students understand how the image is formed in a mirror according to the object’s position

through activity or experiment and group discussion.

CONTENT ANALYSIS

i. New terms:-

Image formation

ii. Fact :-

1. In a mirror the position of the image differs according to the position of the object.

2. The light ray that enters through the centre of curvature, after reflection it returns

through the same path.

3. The light ray that enter through the focus, after reflection the path through the line

parallel to the principle axis.

iii. Concept: -

The position of image always depends on the position of the object.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

i. Remember:-

The pupils recalls about the parts of a mirror which is the part of sphere.

ii. Understand:-

The pupil interpreting the term image formation in curved mirrors .

iii. Apply:-

The pupils carry out various activities to found out the image formation.

iv. Analyse:-

The pupil discriminating the concept of image formation in curved mirrors.

v. Evaluate:-

The pupil testing the focus of concave mirror and convex mirror.

vi. Create :-

The pupil creating the ideas of image formation.

PRE-REQUISITES

The pupils know about concave and convex mirror and their properties.

TEACHING LEARNING AIDS

Chart, Match stick, Gum.

CLASS ROOM INTERACTION PROCEDURE EXPECTED STUDENTS RESPONSE Posing the problem Don’t you know the various parts of a spherical mirror? Let’s see where the images formed in a mirror according to the position where we place the object

Discussion Points

The light ray that enters through the centre of curvature after reflection of the ray which path, it comes out?

It passes through the centre of curvature

Through which way the light ray pass after the reflection which enters though the focus?

Today we have to study about the image formation in concave mirror. The last day I told you to bring three piece of chart paper, A gum and match sticks. “Ok then take it”.

We know that the object is placed beyond C in a concave mirror. The image is formed in the between C and F.

The object is placed in the C the image is formed the same C.

The object is placed in between the C and F the image formed beyond the C.

The light ray that enters though the focus after reflection it comes out parallel to the principle axis

The teacher asked to the first student to come forward and do the activity. Make the position of the image formed when the object is placed beyond “C” in the chart using a match stick and denote the path of rays that are coming through centre of curvature and tip of the object that parallel to the principle axis

Student-1 He draw the dotted lines which denote the path of rays which coming trough “C” and reflected through the same path and the second ray coming from tip of the object that parallel to the principle axis that reflected to focus. Then he placed the match stick where the rays are co-inside that is in between the “C” and “F”.

The teacher asked to the second student to come forward and do the activity Make the position of the image formed when the object is placed at “C”

Student-2 He comes and denote the path of rays, the rays are co-inside he placed the match stick which is in the “C” also

The teacher calling the 3rd student. Make the position of the image formed when the object is placed between C and F.

Student-3 He comes and denote the path of reflected rays, the rays are co-inside beyond the C. so the image is formed the air and mathc stick is placed

Consolidation 1. When the object is placed beyond C image

is formed between C and F 2. When the object is placed in the C the

image formed the C also.

3. When the object is placed in between C and F the image is formed beyond C

CLOSURE OF LESSON

Image formation in different places accordance with place of object

FORMATIVE EVALUATION PROCEDURE

REVIEW

1. The object is placed in the C where the image is formed?

2. What are the properties of image in the C?

FOLLOW UP ACTIVITY

To draw these image formation pictures in your own science dairy and list out the properties of

images accordance with the place of object.
