Purpose of good Communication
Best Practices in Business Communication

Communication Goal, Purpose & Endstate
An organization’s goal should be to provide a high quality level of training and mentorship that will produce employees capable of effectively communicating.
A organization who “grows” their own leaders will be able to maintain a high standard of business and use them to for the future success of the organization.

Inter-personal Communication Skills
According to Fortune, inter-personal communication (IPC) skills are a requirement for management positions. The four IPC skills needed by managers are Consistency, Communication, Commonality & Cooperation.Great communicators use these skills through:• Verbal behavior• Non-Verbal behavior• Active listening•Providing feedback•Using the right communication channel

Informal Communication
No longer considered inappropriate for the workplace. It is often used as an effective method for leaders to communicate with subordinates. It is effective because it can be used when formal communication is not required.
Uses of informal communication: • used in small groups• allows for broader conversation• less scripted

Formal Communication
The most commonly used form of communication within the workplace. It usually falls under four specific categories: Electronic, Print, Face-To-Face & Workspace.Formal messages by the organization or leaders can be transmitted by:
• Meetings/Briefings• Newsletters/Memos• Emails•Voicemails• Bulletin Boards

Use of Social Media
The use of social media is now wide-spread and a part of doing daily business. Some organizations expect employees to use social media.
Twitter: used to sendshort messages to another individual
Instant messagingsoftware developed by such companies as Microsoft’s Oracle.Using cell phones, tablets, or otherpersonal communication devices to send text-messages as a formal way to conduct business operations

Communication Channels
Once each individual has mastered the art of effective inter-personal communication skills, an individual can select among different communication channels to most effectively convey their message after indentifying to purpose of it. Choosing a communication channel:

Conclusion
Great communicators must be molded and developed- they are not born that way. Start with identifying the purpose of the organization, determine what a good leader needs to be, and develop a plan of action to become one.
Inter-personal communication skills, informal, formal, and social media communication channels are excellent ways to communicate.
