User Description
Women are more likely to use beauty products, including products with sunscreen
Women living together will be able to share the experience and competeagainst each other
Stanford students are likely to be aware of the health benefits of sunscreen
iPhone users are likely to be tech-savvy and enjoy using mobile applications
Use of Technology with User
User wakes up in the morning!
User receives text telling her to use sunscreen at her preferred wakeup
time
User uses preferred sunscreenProduct provided & applies it
User opens Gowalla, a mobile check-in app and checks into TRIDELT SUNSCREEN
User sees other friends taking on the challenge
User competes to be at the top of the leaderboard!
Results of 10 Day Challenge
Sent users a summary of their check-ins for the week to the entiregroup, utilizing social pressure
When users missed a day or two, the morning text told user: “You’ve gone two days without sunscreen!”
Mobile follow-ups led to 4 4 days of 100% habit compliance
Users began to wake up and check-in without trigger after day 2
