The Tiger Who Came To Tea• In this book the author and illustrator have used

a lot of blank space. They have done this so that the child reading it is not distracted from the books text and the more important images.

• The fonts in this book is of a Serif style using a Times New Roman font this is used to help make the reading of this book easy for a child as it helps each letter flow onto the next. The spacing between the lines is large as this helps a younger child easily distinguish between two of the lines.

• The art in this book is has a pencil crayon style to it. This gives the characters no real definite lines but the white background helps in doing just that. If this book was to have a detailed drawn background then the characters would have blended into it and so the art style would have had to have been changed. Also using no definite lines like this gives the illustrator a lot of freedom when it comes to the drawings and can make them more detailed.

Hairy Maclary and Zachary Quack• In this book they use rhyming

couplets to make it more interesting for a child to listen to if the book is being read out to them or if they are reading it themselves. This can also increase the speed at which a child learns to read as it is putting together words that look and sound the same.

• The layout of this book is different to the last as they place the illustration onto a separate page to the text. They do this to stop the child from getting distracted by the pictures as they can see the image then they can look at the text. Also it should be easy to read as the black text on the white background contrasts well.

Fox in Socks• In the book the use rhyming

couplets to make the reading of the book easier for a child and make it sound better when a parent reads it to them.

• The layout of this book changes from page to page as the words are usually next to the item or person they are describing. However, they some times put the words under them whole picture.

• Dr. Seuss has many books published all of which follow a similar rhyming theme. They are usually used as a method of teaching children to read as they use rhyming to show the similarity between two words.
