Championship/current Champion

• Playoffs begin in November• When the regular season ends, the 1st place team from

each division has an automatic home berth in the division final, along with a bye week during the division semifinal

• Following, the 2nd place team from each division then hosts the third-place team in the division semifinal

• Then the winners from each semifinal game then face the 1st place team in the division finals

• When playoffs conclude, the two division champions battle each other in the Championships called the Grey Cup game

Championship: Grey Cup

• Grey Cup: acts as the name of the championship trophy and championship game

• Held on the fourth or fifth Sunday of November• Second oldest trophy in North American Sports• Location varies each year but is usually held in one of the

leagues member cities• Following the conclusion of the game, the Grey Cup Most

Valuable Player and Grey Cup Most Valuable Canadian Award winners are announced

• Broadcasted on CBC, CTV and Radio Canada• Sponsored by Scotiabank

• Change made regards the convert kick after a touchdown play, which earns the team an extra point when the ball passes through the goalposts

• New Rule: the kicker has to convert from the 32 yard line, which is 20 yards further than the current distance

• Also, the 2 point-conversion will now be from the 3 yard line instead of the 5 yard line
