When comic book artists create a cover for a book, they use size and location to show the hierarchy of information. Bigger blocks of text are more important and the higher a block of text is on the cover, the more important it is.

The title is the most important, so it is big and near the top.

The names of the writers and artists are less important, so they are smaller and near the bottom.

Artist also use several organizational schemes to guide the reader’s eye through the text and image so that the reader takes in all the information in a way that makes sense.
