Lessons we learned from using C-E-R


#1If we use C-E-R consistently across academic contents, almost all students are able to improve their writing proficiency by at least 1 rubric level grade.





#2If we build C-E-R into ways of thinking and communicating, students are able to develop better analytical skills and using these skills in assess own progress.








#3Students continued to be opinionated and love to share, but now they have the tools in C-E-R to expand their arguments and sustain their claims. Essays with ideas and suggestions that students have delivered to my mailbox include• Why we should have recess before

#4Through this science investigation method, students develop skills in conducting research, in negotiating meanings, and enhancing language proficiency.
