CANON 700D

This is the camera we used throughout our entire production. It allowed us to film in high definition and was small and easy to carry around. This was particularly useful when filming the point of view shot at the beginning of our production, as our actress had to hold the camera while she was running.

CAMERA BAG

We used the camera bag when transporting the equipment from school to our filming location. The camera bag was very useful as not only was it small and lightweight, but it had many different compartments which allowed us to protect the camera and efficiently store other smaller pieces of hardware such as the SD Card and spare batteries that otherwise may have been easily lost.

CANON 700D BATTERIES When completing our project, the

camera batteries were essential. Throughout the filming process we used many of these as they ran down quite quickly.

CANON 700D BATTERY CHARGER So as to be organised and make sure that we

were prepared each time we filmed, Amy got a battery charger so that she was able to charge the camera batteries in-between filming. This helped us to avoid any problems on the day of filming as if one battery ran out of charge we had a fully charged backup.

SD CARD We used the SD card to store our footage on

when we were filming. This was an essential piece of equipment that we wouldn’t have been able to film without. When we were ready, we then used the SD card to transfer our footage to the Macbook, so it could then be edited together. To plan for any problems, we took two SD cards in case one didn’t work properly or got filled up before we had the chance to film all of our scenes.

TRIPOD We used the tripod whenever

we filmed to keep the camera steady. The tripod made the movements (such as panning) much easier and allowed the overall result to come out smoother and of a higher quality. The specific tripod that we used allowed us to change the angle of the camera without having to move the legs of the tripod. This helped us to get a variety of shots and angles within our production.

MICROPHONE

We used the microphone to increase the clarity of our diegetic dialogue. We used this microphone as it was the one available to us and it fitted the camera that we were using.

LAPTOPS As a group, we used Macbooks and Samsung

laptops to complete our work. Our footage was edited on the Macbook Pro, as this was the laptop which contained the editing software. With these laptops, we were also able to complete and upload our coursework to the group blog. Laptops were also used at each members home to complete additional paperwork on.

USB STICK

Each member of the group carried around a USB so that we could store our electronic paperwork and edit in different places around school and at home. This was useful as in addition to this, each member of the group backed up each others paperwork so that if something happened to one of our USBs, there were multiple backups.

EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

I used an external hard drive during the project to store a backup of all of my electronic paperwork and footage. This was to ensure that no work would be lost. The hard drive is 1TB, which proved useful because of the large amount of data stored on there.

MOBILE PHONES (OF CREW) Throughout the project, my group

members and I used our mobile phones to communicate with each other about a range of thing (such as possible filming times, advice about paperwork, etc...)

PRINTER

A printer was used at specific intervals in our project when we needed to print out our paperwork. This then enabled us to give a hard copy to our teacher and get written feedback rather than verbal feedback. This prevented us from forgetting any important details.

CANON A470 I used my personal camera to take reece

pictures on. Having a spare camera to the Canon 700d allowed me to take pictures of other members of my group when they were filming. As this was my camera, I could take it home with me and track the costume progression.
