The Beginning
• Tara Master-‐Hunter, M.D., assistant professor, assistant residency program director, wanted to enhance resident physician learning.
• GME Innova9ons Grant, 2007 – Three-‐year grant

Narrowing It Down • Wiki vs. Google Sites
– Used content that was representa9ve of all the modules (text, images, video)
– Set up drag pages and started experimen9ng with the features
– Evalua9on was based on ease of use, visual appeal, scalability, func9onality

Wiki Pros and Cons • Pros:
– Clean design – Users understand it/are used to the format & layout – All modules would be united – Increased usability if used as a reference
• Cons: – One very long page, not good for learners – Sec9ons did not lend themselves to ease of moving around the site
– Not as easy to program and format – How do we share with the public? – Not visually appealing

Google Sites Cons • Not as much control with the layout
• Tables do not render well on mobile devices
• Cannot double click on choice when seang up the naviga9on – Because this is a large site, there is lots of scrolling
– Cannot scale the window of pages
