A chakra is an alignment point of the body and it can receive and relay the life force energy. The
word Chakra comes from the Sanskrit, it describes the continual spinning of a wheel or the aural
energy sphere within the body of mankind.

Traditionally Hindu scripts believe that there are 88,000 chakra points in the human body. But out
of these, seven chakras form the vital points for the flow of chi along the spinal column to the
crown of the head.
From the base of the spine and upward, we have the root chakra, navel chakra, the stomach or
solar plexus chakra, the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the brow or third eye chakra and the
crown chakra which forms the seven major chakras of the body. These chakras are the main
receiving and transmitting energy points in the human body influencing the spiritual, mystical,
emotional, intellectual, corporeal and psychological conditions of the person.
There is one common characteristic that all of the descriptions of Chakras share. This common
characteristic is that it is the mystical and spiritual understanding of a person's experiences or the
modern understanding of the human thought process. This is what the Hindus think Chakras truly
are.
The chakras are in perpetual motion whether we are awake or asleep. Continual activity does
influence the glandular processes, physical disorders, structure and appearance as well as our
actions and deeds. When one or more of the chakras malfunction for different reasons this will
cause an imbalance, it then continues to make it known in other areas.
There is a particular endocrine gland that associates with each of the seven main chakras. If there
is an imbalance of the chakras functioning it does influence the physical and emotional body
processes. This will be exposed as a disorder of some sort in the regulated patterns of behavior
and or activities that relate to that particular endocrine gland.
You can safely say any major ailments or illnesses that your body may be suffering with can be
related to an unbalanced chakra. It is important to maintain the proper chakra balance in order to
keep your body functioning properly. Even though you may not see any physical attributes of an
illness or an imbalance, you may see a difference in your emotions.
One of the biggest causes of chakra imbalance is the repressed or forgotten emotional baggage
we carry due to those past traumatic experiences. Many individuals habitually bury their bad
memories into their subconscious, unaware that these emotional toxins that are buried inside them
will influence their bodies on a cellular level.
This is why it is extremely important to come to terms with the events that have occurred in our life
in order to heal ourselves through chakra.
Thus, it ca be said that the human body deserves Chakra Healing. By making use of techniques
such as colour therapy, aromatherapy, Reiki healing and balancing the chakras while using
crystals, gemstones or a pendulum we can influence our chakras directly.
The performances of yoga breathing and physical exercises are beneficial to maintaining chakra
balance within the body and it is something that many individuals enjoy participating in.
Some other ways that we can heal our Chakras include mediation as well as guided visualization.
These techniques can help to reduce stress and harness the power of the mind.
Chakras work without any help, though it cannot be felt with our touch or cannot be seen with our
eyes.
The major requirement for balancing chakras requires proper feeding of self and good health.
Respective chakras have specific food items for maintaining balance and good health.
Root-type vegetables, protein-rich foods and spices nourish our root chakra. The sexual and
creativity (sacral) chakra needs sweet fruits, nuts and cinnamon, vanilla, sesame and caraway
seeds; the stomach/solar plexus chakra which is responsible for enhancing our self-confidence
and self-love are can be nourished by eating breads, pastas, cereal, dairy products, yogurt and
minty spices.
Green tea and green leafy vegetables nourish the heart chakra. Consuming a lot of water, fruit
juices and tangy fruits such as peaches and apples nourish the throat chakra.
The third eye chakra which is responsible for the sharpness of third eye sight and a profound
sense of the psychical gifts we all have is nourished by consuming such items as grapes,
blueberries, grape juice and wine.
The crown chakra is the center of our emotion and spiritual needs. It is extremely important that
you take care of the crown chakra by detoxifying through fasting and using herbs.
We can influence our health when we influence or stimulate our chakras. Doing so inspires us to
be more responsive in our lives as we become completely in tune with our general surrounding as
well as all the other elements of the physical and metaphysical environment we live in.
