WELCOME TO 7TH GRADETEACHER: MS.HICKS
SOME INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT MS. HICKS
I have three bothers and I am the youngest I have wanted to be a teacher since Kindergarten. This is my first year as a teacher and I’m excited. My favorite subjects are Science and English. I received my Bachelors of Science from Mississippi State University I do not have children. I live here in Greenville, MS I do not like disrespect and name calling among peers and those in authority.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS CLASS:
Fun and educational projects An organized and clean learning environment Group activities Notebook checks every two Fridays Bell ringers each day Hands on activities
COMING INTO CLASS:
Be on time. Come in quietly and sit in assigned seats. Sharpen your pencil before class starts. If you do not have one, I will
provide you with one. Begin completing the bell ringer from the board.
DURING CLASS:
Listen and pay attention while the teacher is instructing. Raise your hand to answer questions or if you need to get out of
your seat for any reason. Do not write in pen, only PENCIL. No side conversations during instructional time. Participation is mandatory.
TARDINESS
Tardiness is not acceptable. A tardy will be excused only if you bring a note from your teacher. If you don’t have a note, you will be marked tardy. On your second
tardy, you will call home. On your third tardy you will receive a referral.
You have 4 min to get to class, this includes your personal time for the restroom and water fountain.
IF YOU ARE ABSENT
See me the day you return to school for your assignment. Do your work at home.
I will make a copy of your notes for the day(s) you miss and place them in the absent folder to the right of my desk.
If you miss a test, you will need to schedule a day after school to take it by signing the form to the right of my desk my the absent folder.
IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ME AFTER YOU’RE ABSENT!!!!!

doing it.
CONSEQUENSES
Verbal Warning Student conference Detention/ Student conference Parent conference Referral to office In the event you have severe interruption, you will be sent to the office immediately.
HOW YOU WILL BE GRADED
Grading Policy Assessments- 40% Homework- 30% Classwork- 25% Participation 5%
Grading Scale 100-90 A 89-80 B 79-70 C 69-60 D 59- 0 F
FYI……
Remember, If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you
are determined to learn, no one can stop you. I know we are going to have an amazing year! Hard work
everyday and I know it will pay off.
