GORBEIA MOUNTAINThe Gorbeia mountain is located in the middle of the natural park with the same name. It has 1482 metres and it’s in the border between Alava and Biscay.

GORBEIA RIVERSThere is a river which is born in the mountain of Gorbeia, named “Baia”.

If you cross the “Arcarai” bridge, there is a small dam that retains the waters of the stream “Larreakorta”

IT HAS 200 km2

THE GORBEIA NATURAL PARK HAS A MOUNTAINOUS CLIMATE.

CLIMATE

Rain is abundant in every months of the year, but usually in winter the weather is rainier. Usually temperature in winter is lower than in the other seasons. Climate is very varied, because there are many levels, there isn’t the same temperature in the mountain than on the sea level.

THE MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTICS ARE:

IT IS THE LARGEST BASQUE NATURAL PARK AND IT WAS DECLARED NATURAL PARK BY THE BASQUE GOVERNMENT. THE GOVERNMENT PUBLISHED THE NEW DECREE ON 21st JUNE 1994 AND THERE IT SAYS THAT. IT TAKES THE NAME OF GORBEIA BY ITS HIGH PEAK, THE GORBEIA, OF 1.482 METRES.
