Organization of Students of Planning
Registered under Societies Registration Act of XXI, 1860 in August 2008
What is NOSPlan?
NOSPlan is an organization to develop the community of planning
students to become better planning professionals of tomorrow.
It is a platform for interaction between the planning students and the
entire planning fraternity at large.
It provides a platform for student planners to raise their voices and
project their ideas about current planning practices.
Overview
NOSPlan was first started in 1970s by IIT Kharagpur and SPA Delhi but in a
few years the idea died out.
In 1993, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi revived the long
dormant NOSPlan meet where planners from all over India gathered to
share their thoughts and experiences.
Then onwards annual conventions were held during the years 1998 till
2011, 2013 and 2014.
In 2008 the organization became the registered body of students of
planning from all over the country.
Objectives of NOSPlan
o To help towards advancement, dissemination and application of the
knowledge of planning, through the education system.
o To promote interactions among planning students, faculty,
professionals and educational institutes engaged in planning and
related subjects.
o To promote and encourage academic research by students in
planning and related subjects.
o To undertake and execute all acts which shall promote all or any of
the aims and objectives of the society.

of NOSPlan was held at
COE-Pune from 21st
December, 2015 to 24th
December, 2015.
It was a conjunction of more than 700 brightest minds of the country in the field
of planning, connected by one theme – ‘MOVING TOWARDS SMART CITIES:
acknowledging the dire need of the hour for smarter and planned cities,’
and called ABHYUDAYA – 2015.

Annual Magazine
Annual Magazine is published annually by the Member College
hosting the Annual Convention for the year.
Articles are invited from every member college for the Annual
Magazine, which are scrutinized by the Associate Editor before
sending them to the Chief Editor.
All the UG and PG students are requested to send articles for the
annual magazine as per their understanding of the world of planning
and related insights.

Role of SPA, Delhi
SCHOOL OF PLANNING & ARCHITECTURE, NEW DELHI, has
played a pivotal role in the revival of NOSPlan.
As the National Secretariat, it has worked towards the establishment
of NOSPlan as a recognized body. Also it has incessantly worked to
ensure efficient co-ordination between the member colleges.
At the unit level, it has been performing all the functions as has been
prescribed for member colleges.
