Ireland
Ireland is an island to the north-west of continental Europe. It is the third-largest island in Europe and the twentieth-largest island on Earth. To its eastis the larger island of Great Britain, from which it is separated by the IrishSea. Ireland is member of The European Community.
Dublin
Dublin is the capital and most populouscity of Ireland. Dublin is situated nearthe midpoint of Ireland's east coast, atthe mouth of the River Liffey and thecentre of the Dublin Region.

Division of Ireland after the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921.Ireland is subdivided into fourprovinces: Connacht(west), Leinster (east), Munster(south), and Ulster (north). In asystem that developed between the13th and 17th centuries, Ireland has32 traditional counties. Twenty-sixof these counties are in theRepublic of Ireland and six are inNorthern Ireland. The six countiesthat constitute Northern Irelandare all in the province of Ulster(which has nine counties in total).As such, Ulster is often used as asynonym for NorthernIreland, although the two are notcoterminous.
