•Their currency is Japenes Yen

• Japan is the only country in the world that has an emperor

• In 1635 the shogun was the government party. Foreigners were not allowed into Japan and Japenese people were not allowed out

• During WWI Japan fought with the US but in 1941 they bombed Pearl harbour and WWII began

• In August 1945, the U.S. dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing about 115,000 people.

Japan surrendered a few days later.

• Samurai lived according to the way of the warrior (Bushido), an

• unwritten samurai code of conduct
