“I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians…”
- Exodus 3:7-8
God loves setting people free!
Sometimes the biggest obstacle to freedom in your life is YOU.
“But I will be with you, and this shall bethe sign for you, that I have sent you: whenyou have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”
- v. 12
Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and theyask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?
- v. 13
14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”
- v. 14
Say “yes” to Jesus
So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.
- Romans 7:14,15 (NLT)
I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I Inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power* within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.
Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Romans 7:21-25 (NLT)
