What are the colors of stars. Give examples.
Pupils to work in pairs. One will ask questions about our topic and the other one will answer .
Group of Stars According to Color Stars are made of very hot gases, mostly hydrogen and helium provides fuel that produces the light energy of the star.1. Red stars- are the coolest star Ex. Betelguese and Antares (3000) degrees Celsius2. Orange stars- are stars cooler than red stars Ex. Arcturus ( 4,200 degrees Celsius)3. Yellow stars- are hot stars Ex. Sun ( 6,000 degrees Celsius) and Procyon 4. White stars- are hotter stars compared to yellow star. Ex. Sirius and Vega (11,000 degrees Celsius)5. Bluish- white stars- are the hottest stars. Ex. Rigel (20,000 degrees Celsius)
1.Magnitude- is the degree of brightness of a star.2. Stars seem to twinkle because their light passes through different layers of air surrounding the Earth.3. The distance of stars from the Earth are measured in light years.
1. Apparent Magnitude- the apparent brightness of stars due to their size and distance from the Earth.2. Light Years- refers to the distance of the stars from the Earth.
