Lakewood Lodge• Lakewood Lodge is located on Glen

Murray Rd, Rangiriri, 10 minutes north of Huntly (just 45 minutes away)

• Situated on 45 acres bounded by the Whangape River.

• An adventure camp with activities ideal for Year 5 and 6 students

• Trained instructors for a range of activities

• Has been an Adventure Camp for 16 years and has stringent safety standards.

TimetableWe are going for 4 days and 3 nightsOne of those nights, students will spend on “Survival”.Depart 9am Tuesday, 28th October3 meals per day and morning and afternoon teaRotate through activities in groupsEvening activities as whole groupTime for showering, free time activitiesBedtime approx 9pmReturn to TGS by 3pm Friday, 31st October

2. Kayaking

3. Climbing Wall

4. Archery

5. Flying Fox

6. Low Ropes

7. Frisbee Golf

8. Survival

What is “Survival”?

• Students spend a night in a tent• Go eeling• Do a mud run• Cook their own dinner on a

campfire and share stories.

• We require tents to borrow for this experience. Ideally 2-4 person.

• Spotlight• Games in the Hall• Singstar• Disco• Concert (skits)• Waterslide• Animal Feeding• Horse Grooming• Pool and Table Tennis• Basketball

Sleeping Arrangements

• Girls will sleep in one large dormitory in the main building

• Boys will sleep in a separate dormitory 20m away from the main building. Male adults may also stay here.

• Students will rotate as they will be spending 1 night in a tent.

• Students will need to be able to pack their own bag for Survival and when departing.

How Much Will It Cost?The camp price includes:• Transport• Food • Accommodation• Trained Instructors and Camp

Full payment is required by Friday 24th October.$255 per student

Food and Dietary Requirements

• Most dietary requirements provided for

• Please let us know of any allergies and special dietary requirements.

• Gluten Free - please label & provide own cereal, bread & pasta.

• Dairy Free & Vegan - please label & provide own cheese & milk.

• Meat is NOT Halal, so these students are best to go vegetarian for camp.

Health and Medical Permission

You will be receiving these forms tonight.Please read through and fill out the Permission and Medical Forms as soon as possible so we can make arrangements.

There are 7 current First Aid trained staff members and teachers.X-rays are available at Pukekohe (30 minutes away)Waikato Hospital is 45 minutes awayDoctors & St John’s ambulance, on call - 10 minutes away

Risk Analysis & Management

Lakewood Lodge is OSH approved and has recently had an audit and obtained the NZ Outdoors Mark Factors for each activity, including travel, have been identified and measures taken to reduce risk.kManagement forms will be sighted by the BOT and will be ratified at the next BOT meeting. RAM forms will be available to be viewed once approved by the BOT (at the Office).Ratio of 1 adult to 6 students and 1 adult to 5 students with water activities. All equipment is regularly checked, maintained, updated and cleaned.
