Retailers has a large variety of goods according to the taste and fashion of customers. Retailers maintain regular availability of various products. Retailers provide credit facility to trustworthy customers. Retailers educates the consumers on the proper use and advantages of new products. Retailers in general provides a lot of consumer assistance in buying various products. Retailers provide door delivery and after sales services to customers. Retailers normally situated very near to the residential areas.
Concept
Purchase and sale of goods in relatively small quantities generally to the ultimate consumer is referred as retail trade.

Introduction
After usual classroom practices and an informal talk, the teacher introduces the topic by asking the following questions.
What do you mean by retail trade? What are the functions of a retailer?
Presentation
Do any of your relatives have retailer shop? Do you purchase goods for your home? Do you think that retail traders provide you with more
services providing you with products?
Development
To analyze various services of retailers to the customers, the teacher provide the following situations.
Group Activity:- the teacher divide the class into different groups and provide activity cards to each groups and asks them to discussion the situation that they got. Each group having different situations.
Group 1- Suppose you bought a washing machine from your nearby shop what kind of service are you getting from your retailer?
Group 2- Suppose you bought a mobile phone from a shop .w hat kind of service did you get from the retailer?
Other two groups were asked to find out the services they are likely to get after a car and a stationery items being bought.
The teacher clarifies the doubts if any and ensures the participation of each and every student in the activity.
After discussion the teacher asks each group to present their findings.
The students present their points and teacher refines it and writes it on the blackboard.
