The magazine will hopefully become a market leader given time. Working Title: The working title for my magazine is ‘Sound of Pop!’ I did also have an idea of using the title ‘Life of Pop!’, but ‘Sound of Pop!’ seems to relate more to music by the word ‘sound’, which would be more relevant to my magazine. I am going to produce a music magazine in the format of a front cover and a double page spread for my magazine called ‘Sound of Pop!’ The publication will be a brand new release within the pop music genre, with a view to competing with established magazines such as: Tops of the Pops and We Love Pop.

The colours I am most considering on using for the title are pink and white, as my magazine of inspiration (Top of the Pops!) had also used pink and white for their

title. The font I will use is: as it’s bold, clear, easy to read and still fun to look at.

Genre:The sub-genre of my music magazine will be Pop, so the magazine will be mainly aimed at young girls because they enjoy Pop music the most and are stereotypically more interested in boy bands and fashion.

Content: My magazine ‘Sound of Pop!’ will include stories/ articles about pop stars or bands,

exclusive interviews with them, posters, song’s lyrics, pictures of all the pop stars and bands and fashion styles/ tips/ advice. Bands/ Stars could include: the Vamps, 5 Seconds of summer, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5, and Ellie Goulding etc… stars who’re also in the UK top 40 chart could be included.

Style or Approach:For my magazine I will use utopian colours to outlines puffs, titles and in the background to make darker things stand out to people. These colours are: The house style of my magazine will consist of the colours: Red (to signify excitement, energy and love), Pink (to signify love, romance and excitement), Yellow (to represent Joy, happiness, optimism, imagination and hope), Blue (to signify peace, stability, trust and loyalty), Purple (to signify wisdom and enlightenment), Orange (to signify energy, balance, enthusiasm and warmth), White (to signify purity, simplicity, peace,

youth, good) and Black (to signify Power, elegance, style and innocence).

To produce my magazine front cover and double page spread, I will use photo shop to make my magazine the most professional looking and eye catching specific to my target audience. I will use tools such as: the spot healing tool, the quick selection tool, free transform tool, the brightness/ adjustment tool, the brush/ paint tool, crop, shape ,colour palette, effects pallet, text tool, new layer tool, refine edge tool, the move tool, clone tool, eraser too and the pen tool.

The colour white with a pink stroke effect was chosen for the masthead because it will make it stand out. Also Top of the Pops’ Masthead is white and all the background is pink so I used a brighter pink for the stroke effect and then a lighter pink for the back ground of the text.

For the background of the whole front cover I decided to use the same as Top of the Pops by using red for the background because it makes all of the lighter colours on the page stand out to the readers. I have chosen to use many different fonts and colours for my front cover as it will make it look brighter, interesting and aesthetically pleasing. Audience: Socio-economics won’t be a problem for my magazine as the magazine is for all girls of all ethnicity. The age group for my magazine cover and double page spread will be females aged 12+, who stereotypically are interested in fashion, pop music and chart music. There is no specific ethnicity for the audience of my magazine, just so long as they’re (stereotypically) interested in pop music, fashion and boys.

Length:

My magazine won’t be very chunky, but there will be at least 30 pages of an A4 size, as my magazine of inspiration is also an A4 size. This includes the front and back covers. Frequency:

My magazine will be a monthly prescription, allowing my readers to stay motivated to my magazine, as they will only have to wait one month. If it were to be a yearly prescription, more people may forget about it and/or get bored as it would only be one magazine per year. Also, if my magazine is monthly, then it will always be the latest news. To make my magazine affordable for the audience (as they’re too young for even a Saturday job, so won’t have a lot of money apart from pocket money if they get it), my magazine will cost £1.99. The cost for my magazine of inspiration was £3.99, which I think is too expensive for a young audience.
