Idea 1: Nature Channel – Filming – Pathos - Funny Setting: The camera is zoomed into a Lynx can in the wild/jungle. The camera will be freehand like on a typical nature show. As the camera is wobbling in his hand, it makes a sudden pan to the right to see women in bikinis. They are in a animalistic stance and looking ready to pounce. Suddenly, the camera takes a strong sweep to the left after hearing twigs break from beneath their feet, men in briefs with leafs tucked in ready to pounce like the women. Throughout this all, a narrator will be talking over this all to create suspense saying such things as “This is becoming very tense”. The advert ends with the men and women sprinting toward the Lynx can. (The Lynx can could possibly have the smaller cans available to buy representing eggs or smaller animals). In this advert, the can will represent the prey, and the men and women will represent the predators. This will all be done in one or two shots which is quite unique for an advert. Slogan: Let your wild side out. Strengths – Has unrealistic humour. Audiences find this relatable as a lot of silly comedy sketches are based on a surreal setting. Not time consuming. Weaknesses – Quite simplistic. Getting props. Need quiet location. Opportunities – Easy to film. Not many actors needed. Threats – Getting the location will be hard.

Idea 2:Rick Astley – Ethos/Pathos – Parody & Humour

Rick is sitting in a gutter with the same background from his one-hit wonder song, ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’, this is a very famous song. Whilst sitting on the curb depressed and confused, a glamorous woman walks past glowing with bright lights. She is dressed nice and looks confident. She sprays the Lynx can on herself which grabs the attention of Rick, she instinctively throws the can to Rick. Rick sprays himself which immediately wires him up and climbs to his feet. He starts singing his song, he points to the camera saying “Never Gonna Give ‘You’ Up!’.

Slogan: He’s Never Gonna Give You Up.

Strengths – Parody of a famous song, very commonly known through the internet.

Weaknesses – Getting the actor or actor who looks like him.

Opportunities – Will be professionally filmed. Easy to film.

Threats – Need good lighting and camera equipment.

Idea 3:A man wakes up in his bed, gets dressed for work, and leaves his house looking forward to

his day. Alternatively, he ends up having a really bad day at work, splashed by a puddle due to a car, and goes home to an empty house. Whereas, parallel to him, a woman puts on the Lynx in the morning and has a great day. Everything he does, she does the same thing but positively, in a half split screen effect. The moral of the advert is that spraying lynx will start your day off great and stay consistent throughout the day.

Slogan: Consistency is perfection.

Strengths – Unlike other adverts.

Weaknesses – Quite hard to make.

Opportunities – Easy to film the individual adverts.

Threats – May be difficult to make each screen match shot for shot.

Idea 4: Pathos – HumorA girl comes up to a boy by a stereotypical American school hallway by lockers. As she decides to speak

to him in a flirtatious way, he starts to become speechless and awkwardly keeping his arms by his sides. The boy then runs away from the girl pretending like he has to be somewhere. As he gets home, he finds a lynx can in a plastic bag that his mother had just bought for him, he takes it out and observes it, then applies it to his underarm. The next day the girl comes up to him and he confidently explains what happens, the girl takes a strong inhale and smiles at him. In the end they walk off hand in hand together.

Slogan: Confidence is adaptable.

Strengths: Quite unique for an advert. Easily filmed. Not many actors needed. Easy to understand.

Weaknesses: May be hard to find a American school willing for them to film. Embarrassing for kid at start.

Opportunities: In school so a lot of people may find it relatable.

Threats: Excessive sweating is a bad image.

Idea 5:

A pizza delivery man wakes up and sprays Lynx on himself. As he goes up to his first house of the day, a woman opens the door and drags him in instead of the pizza. He comes out the house with lipstick and his hair and beard all scruffy, then a small montage plays of different camera angles showing different girls dragging him in their home. The advert ends with him getting on his bike and riding off into the distance with the Lynx brand name and the product in big.
