Cleaning-up the Schoolway
Masahud, Termizie Jr.
INTRODUCTIONProject Title:
Problem Statement:
Community Needs:
Objectives:
Cleaning-up the Schoolway
To implement a proper solid waste management system in the area as well as increase the conciousness of the people in protecting the
environment
In the area that I've picked, trash pile up on the sidewalks and around the community due to the lack of trash cans in the area and proper
waste management.
The community is in need of public trash cans, a clean-up drive, and a way to sustain the cleanliness of the environment like a garbage
truck to pick up the rubbish
Solution Statement:
Outputs:
Outcomes: Increased awareness of the people to preserving the beauty of the environment.
Clean-up drive with partner organization and volunteer students and setting-up 6 public trash cans along with plastic bottles and other plastic product containers in the area and1
garbage truck comes over to collect trash at least once a week every week
To get some help from an NGO to implement the public trash cans and to help initiate the clean-up drive, also to contact the local
government for their cooperation in mobilizing the garbage trucks to work and collecting the plastics for art purposes.
LessonsLearned
from:Dr. Sue's lecture on Environmental Issues in the
Philippines
Specifically about?
How we are all responsible for the planet and Role of the Youth in Sustainability
How applied in your Project?
It can be applied by doing the project to show the role of the youth in the sustainability of the environment to make the
people aware that we are all responsible for the planet
How Innovative is your Project?
For me, the project would be pretty innovative since a youth is initiating it. This can make a bigger impact on the youth to follow
and be more concious of the health of the environment.

How do you ensure sustainability?I may ensure the sustainability of this project by having the local government have the garbage truck working to collect the trash in the garbage cans, having the surrounding schools collect the recyclable materials for use in making artworks and other objects and exhibit them during our MSU day. And also to maintain the sustainability, I may conduct more cleanliness drives from time to time and by monitoring the project to look for flaws and fixing them
Thank you!
